If you ever need to record something or edit audio documents then Audacity may be you saviour. This freely downloadable program is full of features to edit and enhance audio files. I have used Audacity a lot when making activities and tutorials, but it can also be used by students to create and record their own work. It can make a nice change from the standard oral production tasks!
- I used Audacity to create this oral comprehension task, using my voice and open-source sound effects I found on the internet.
- I was able to create all of the small sound files in this Smart Board activity using Audacity.
- Different audio files were combined, enhanced and layered to make this sample Podcast.
If you want to know how to use this program, here is a video tutorial explaining the basics.
